Physically Putting Album Nine Into the World — With Your Help

The 9th Feeding Fingers album is almost done.

The recording is essentially complete — violin parts from Marica Filomena Coppola will be tracked November 7th through 9th, after which there are a few small fixes and then mixing and mastering. The finish line is very close.

Now comes the part where we need your help.

To release this record properly — on vinyl, CD and digitally — we need to raise $3,000. Here’s exactly where that money goes.

The Artwork — JH Williams III

The album artwork will be created by JH Williams III — one of the most celebrated comic book artists in the entire history of the medium. Best known for his landmark run on Batwoman for DC Comics, his collaboration with Alan Moore (Watchmen) on Promethea, his work with Neil Gaiman on Sandman Overture and his run on Detective Comics, his pages are immediately recognizable — dense, painterly, architecturally complex compositions that blur the boundary between sequential art and fine art. He has won multiple Eisner Awards, the comics world’s highest honor and his work is regularly cited as among the most visually ambitious ever committed to the page.

He is also a Feeding Fingers listener — has been for well over a decade — and has been wanting to work with us for a very long time. With your help, we will finally have the opportunity to make that happen.

The Photography — Giovanna De Marco

The funds will also cover a photography session with Giovanna De Marco, a trusted professional photographer based in Naples, Italy. The photos will serve as production, press and reference material for the album — and as key visual source material for an upcoming animated music video by Steven Lapcevic for a song called “Elegant Plastics”, which we are particularly excited to unveil.

The Animated Video — Steven Lapcevic

Steven is a long-time collaborator, dear friend and — as far as we’re concerned — an honorary member of Feeding Fingers. He is an independent animator and experimental filmmaker whose work is visually unlike anything else out there. His animated shorts have screened at over sixty film festivals worldwide. In 2024 his animated video for “On the Run” was selected as a winner in Pink Floyd’s official Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary Animation Competition. He is also the director behind some of our most beloved music videos — Fireflies Make Us Sick, Blisters First, Eat My Eyes or Please Them, Your Candied Laughter Crawls, Model Lives and Fallen Leaves and more. His visual sensibility has always felt like a natural extension of the music itself. Elegant Plastics will represent a new and exciting chapter in our collaboration with Steven that we can't wait to show you all.

The Physical Production

The rest goes directly toward pressing vinyl and manufacturing CDs — everything it takes to put a real, tangible and beautifully documented object into your hands.

We don’t expect any single person to contribute $3,000 — though if that happened we would be completely floored! Every bit of help counts, no matter the amount. If you’re willing and able to contribute anything at all, it moves this record one step closer to existing as a physical object and it means the world to us.

In return, everyone who helps will receive a physical copy of the album, a handwritten lyric book and whatever other little goodies we can put together — because this should feel like something meaningful, not just a transaction. You’ll also be kept updated every step of the way as the album moves through production, so you’ll be part of the process from the inside.

Rather than setting up a crowdfunding page and going through all of that, I’d prefer to do this the way we’ve always done things — directly and personally, between the band and you.

If you are interested in helping us get this album made, reach out to us directly via email at tephramedia@gmail.com and we’ll figure out what that looks like together.

This album is almost here. Let’s get it into the world.

Thank you — as always — for being here.
