A Trilogy in the Making — and a Call for Support

For nearly two decades, Feeding Fingers has been the center of my creative life — a strange, stubborn and beautiful experiment that’s taken me from the United States to Italy, from empty bars to packed theaters and from the most solitary corners of my imagination to stages across continents.

Since 2006, I’ve written, recorded and released nine full-length albums, countless singles and an extensive catalog of music videos and film works. Some of you might remember the triple-album project Attend — a massive, deeply personal endeavor that demanded everything I had. Others have followed me through the more recent years, from Against the Roses to the live compilation Paper Dreams Do Crease. Every note, every frame, every lyric that has been released has been a piece of not only me, but also my wonderful bandmates and my generous creative partners in video — against all odds.

I’ve toured across North America and Europe, playing with a wide range of musicians, artists and filmmakers who helped shape Feeding Fingers into what it’s become: not just a “band,” but a long, evolving project involving some of the most wonderful people that I’ve ever known. None of this could have been done without my incredible bandmates Bradley Claborn and Julian Bryan and the brilliant creative partners who bring our music to life — for example, long-time artistic collaborator Steven Lapcevic and video directors like Ronny Carlsson and Tom Brown. Their vision, energy and talent have been indispensable and I am endlessly grateful to them all.

Now, I’m standing at the edge of something new — something ambitious, even by my own standards.
I want to create a trilogy of albums, each one radically different from the others. Three unique sound worlds. Three emotional and aesthetic statements that share a common soul. These albums will not repeat what I’ve already done. They will explore new corners of music — places I’ve only touched on before.

But I also intend for these albums and their live presentation to become multimedia experiences. Alongside the music, I plan to incorporate elements of music video, stop-motion animation, animation in general, puppetry, theater and concert staging — blurring the lines between album, film and performance. I imagine that our live shows will not just be concerts, but immersive experiences: video projections, puppets or sculptural pieces, animation sequences, theatrical lighting and staging and more.

The ideas are already alive. I know what they are, how they’ll sound and what they’ll require from me. But to bring them to life, I need more of the most important resource that there is: time.

For most of my life, I’ve balanced two full careers — my work as a language professional (teaching English and Italian, interpreting, translating and acting as a cultural concierge) and my work as a composer and recording artist. While I’m grateful for both, it has reached a point where I simply can’t give this trilogy the depth and devotion it deserves while also maintaining my day-to-day professional obligations.

To complete these three albums, I need to step away from my language work temporarily — to buy the time necessary to compose, record, engineer and produce this music properly and to also rehearse with my band, plan tours and bring this music (with all the multimedia components) to the stage for everyone.

That means I need financial support.

Not massive corporate funding — but real, direct, human support from people who believe in this work, who have followed Feeding Fingers and who understand the years of sacrifice and persistence behind it. I suppose what I’m looking for are benefactors — or perhaps more accurately, patrons in the old sense of the word. People who want to see art continue to exist for its own sake, who believe in its value enough to nurture it.

If you are willing and able to help finance the creation of this trilogy, I’d like to hear from you directly. I can share more details about my intentions, the budget, the timelines and what I hope to give back through this project.

To those who have listened, shared, attended shows, purchased records and have gotten to know us over the years — you’ve already kept this music alive. This next step is simply about allowing me the time and space to fully realize what comes next — without compromise, without rush and without having to steal every minute from another life.

Thank you for reading, for listening and for being part of this long Feeding Fingers story.
More soon.
